Big Book Sale @ Kahuku Library: March 16-17

I am sorry for a late post. But...

From Monday to Tuesday, March 16 and 17, the Friends of the Library Kahuku (FOLK) will present its semi-annual Big Book Sale during library hours: March 16 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., and on March 17 from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m.

They have a wide collection of books for children, teens and adults, plus DVDs, VHS videos, and CDs at unbelievably low prices. Proceeds from this sale will benefit the library - Hawaii State Public Library System seriously needs your help!!

Last month, We went to Bookzilla at Kaimuki Library and found many great books - most of them priced @ $1.00.

What we bought ---
The Constant Princess (Boleyn)" by Philippa Gregory - Have you watched The Other Boleyn Girl Movie? - To me, a big disappointment & not even half as mesmerizing as an original book.

The Many Lives & Secret Sorrows of Josephine B.
by Sandra Gulland

Angry Housewives Eating Bon Bons: A Novel by Lorna Landvik - I was drawn by the title alone... Can't wait to read it.

Fight Back With Food: Use Nutrition to Heal What Ails You by Reader's Digest

Some Tax Book by Earnest Young

Savers & Salvation Army - 50% OFF Sale!!

I love shopping at thrift stores.  Sure, my husband and I sometimes buy things and later find out that they are broken or unusable (We usually console each other saying "well, at least out money is used for good causes...").  But our list of great finds is quite long - my husband's work shirts (i.e., aloha shirts), furniture, electrical appliances, craft supplies, fabrics, "antiques," and more.  I especially adore our Noritake plates and tea cups, which I scored for $.10 each at GoodWill Outlet.  A friend of mine even found an almost brand-new bread maker for less than $10 (I was oh so jealous).

This President's Day, Salvation Army and Savers are having Storewide 50% Off Sale (excl. red tag items at Savers).

To find stores near you, visit their website.

Did you find any great President's Day Sale?  I would love to hear from you.
